Training

We offer an extensive training capability with courses tailored to meet customers' specific requirements.

Our highly experienced instructors, using our purpose built facility, can provide pilots and crews with conversion to type, procedural instrument ratings and line training.

Our innovative and highly respected Crew Resource Management programme is designed to help teams work effectively in mission critical environments.

Its value has been recognised by emergency services personnel across the UK and is frequently used by ground based personnel as an example of best practice in team working.

Specialist Aviation Services are an approved Type Rating Training Organisation for initial type conversion, periodic checks and initial instrument rating.

In the early days of PAS, the only external courses offered were for police observers. Nowadays, with the advent of on-board task-management systems, the job is much more demanding and equivalent to that of mission commander.

However, training for police observers and air ambulance paramedics, as for all the specialist skills provided by SAS member companies, continue to be provided in-house.

An EASA Part 147 approved school in the new office complex was designed to the group's own specifications and offers a wide and growing range of training facilities.

With the school and its dedicated faculty in place, the group is in a position to offer these improved training facilities to external customers.
