Pilotage

Specialist Aviation Services is one of the UK's largest employers of onshore helicopter pilots in the UK: some 50 currently serve in support of emergency service contracts. We can provide highly professional and experienced pilots to fly your aircraft - either full time or as emergency cover. Most of our experienced aircrew and instructors are from a military background, each with a minimum of 2,000 operational flying hours in demanding environments.
These are invariably seasoned aviators who know their strengths and limitations - and those of their aircraft.

The company's pilots have gained their experience in various theatres and offer expertise in a wide range of disciplines. We attract the most professional pilots because we can offer them challenging assignments. They are used to working in disciplined environments, unusual and demanding roles and dealing with adverse weather conditions.

All new PAS/MAS pilots undergo a rigorous police or EMS role-conversion programme, under the supervision of the Company's instructors. To keep their flying skills sharp, they also undergo regular evaluations as required by the CAA. Type Rating Examiners and an Instrument Rating Examiner are employed for this purpose.
