26 June 2006EASA Approves MD Explorer Engineer Type Rating Course Specialist Aviation Services subsidiary - Police Aviation Services - has been granted an approval to provide maintenance type ratings for the MD Explorer to meet new EASA requirements. The group employs around 40 licensed maintenance engineers, and currently maintains over 30 aircraft in the UK and overseas. As well as the Explorer - types maintained include the EC 135 and Bell 206 Jet Ranger series.
In the last two months, the company has signed two new MD Explorer maintenance contracts, bringing the number of Explorers for which it is responsible to 15. |
The company plans to use its new approval to train more of its own staff to cater for the added workload and to provide greater flexibility across its regional engineering teams.
It will also offer this training externally to maintenance organisations across Europe. |
